AUTHENTICITY AND QUALITY GUARANTEE

Semple&Co is committed to supplying genuine, accurately described and carefully inspected bullion coins. This Authenticity and Quality Guarantee explains the standards we apply to all products sold through our website.

1.    Our Authenticity Guarantee
Unless clearly stated otherwise, all coins sold by Semple&Co are guaranteed to be genuine.
We take reasonable and professional steps to verify authenticity before any coin is offered for sale. We never knowingly sell counterfeit, replica or altered coins.
If a coin purchased from Semple&Co is proven not to be genuine, customers are entitled to a full refund in accordance with our Terms and Conditions and Consumer Rights Act 2015.

2.    Inspection and Verification
All coins are visually and physically inspected prior to sale. Verification methods may include:
• Visual inspection of design and finish
• Weight and dimension checks
• Comparison with Royal Mint specifications
• Examination of security features on modern Britannias
• Review of coin condition and wear
Coins are assessed using professional judgement and available industry standards.

3.    Condition and Product Description
We aim to describe coin condition as accurately and honestly as possible.
Because bullion and collectible coins are often handled, stored or traded before resale, minor variations in appearance may occur. These may include:
• Toning or natural colour changes
• Light surface marks or contact marks
• Packaging wear
• Mint handling marks
Where coins are described as pre-owned or circulated, signs of prior handling should be expected.
Images are provided for illustration purposes and actual coins may vary slightly, particularly where multiple coins of the same type or year are available.

4.    Bullion vs Collectible Coins
Silver Britannias may be purchased for investment or collectible purposes.
Bullion Coins
Bullion coins are primarily valued for their silver content and are priced based on precious metal market value. Bullion coins may show minor marks or toning that do not affect silver content or authenticity.
Collectible Coins
Certain Britannia years, designs or packaging may have collectible appeal. Where collectible characteristics are relevant, they will be described in product listings where reasonably possible.
Semple&Co does not guarantee collectible value or future market demand.

5.    Third-Party Grading
Semple&Co does not currently specialise in third-party graded coins. Where graded coins are offered in the future, grading represents the opinion of the grading service and may differ between organisations or collectors.

6.    Handling and Storage Advice
To help preserve coin condition, customers should:
• Handle coins by the edges where possible
• Avoid touching coin surfaces
• Store coins in protective packaging
• Keep coins in a dry, temperature-controlled environment
Improper storage or cleaning may reduce coin condition or collectible value.

7.    Cleaning and Alteration Warning
Customers should never clean or polish bullion or collectible coins. Cleaning can permanently damage coin surfaces and reduce both collectible and resale value.
Semple&Co cannot accept returns for coins that have been altered or cleaned after delivery.

8.    Packaging and Dispatch Quality
All coins are securely packaged prior to dispatch to minimise movement and transit damage. We use protective materials and insured delivery services wherever possible.

9.    If You Have Concerns About Authenticity or Condition
If customers believe a coin may be faulty, misdescribed or not genuine, they should contact Semple&Co as soon as reasonably possible after receiving the item.
Customers may be asked to provide photographs or return the coin for inspection.
Customer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 remain unaffected.
