These Buy-Back Terms explain how customers can sell silver and gold coins and bullion to Semple&Co. By requesting an estimate or sending items to us, you agree to these terms.
These terms apply to the exclusion of any other terms the customer may seek to impose or rely upon.
This policy should be read alongside our Terms and Conditions and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Policy.

1.    About Us

2.    Overview of Our Buy-Back Service
Semple&Co offers to purchase genuine silver and gold coins and bullion from customers, subject to inspection, verification and market conditions.
All estimates are non-binding until items have been received, inspected and a final offer is issued and accepted.
Semple&Co reserves the right to refuse any purchase at its discretion.

3.    Requesting an Estimate
Customers may request an estimated purchase price by contacting Semple&Co and providing:
• Item type (coin or bullion)
• Metal (silver or gold)
• Quantity
• Year or specification where relevant
• Condition
• Photographs where requested
Estimates are provided for guidance only and do not represent a guaranteed or fixed price.
Precious metal prices fluctuate continuously. The final purchase price will be determined based on live market conditions at the time of inspection.

4.    Nature of Estimated Quotes
Any price provided prior to receiving your items is an indicative estimate only and is supplied for guidance purposes. Such estimates are not binding, do not constitute an offer to purchase, and do not create any contractual obligation on either party.
Precious metal prices fluctuate continuously and the final purchase price will always be determined only after the items have been received, inspected and verified by Semple&Co. A formal and binding offer will be issued following inspection, at which point the price will be fixed for the period stated in the final offer.
Customers acknowledge and accept that the final offer may differ from any earlier estimate, whether higher or lower, due to market movements, condition, quantity or other relevant factors.

5.    Posting Your Items
If you wish to proceed, you must send your items to Semple&Co using Royal Mail Special Delivery or an equivalent fully tracked and insured service.
Customers are responsible for:
• Packaging items securely
• Using appropriate insurance
• Providing accurate sender details
• Retaining proof of postage and tracking
Customers bear the risk of loss or damage during transit to Semple&Co.
Customers must ensure that parcels are sent within the insured value limits of the postal service used.
Customers should include the completed submission form inside the parcel when sending items to Semple&Co.
We strongly recommend not sending items by standard or uninsured post.
Customers must ensure that all items included in the parcel are accurately listed in the submission form provided. By submitting items, the customer confirms that the items listed represent the full contents of the parcel.

6.    Reimbursement of Postage
Where Semple&Co purchases your items, reasonable insured postage costs may be reimbursed as part of the final payment.
Postage reimbursement is at our discretion, subject to reasonable limits. Proof of postage costs may be requested.

7.    Inspection and Verification
Upon receipt, items will be inspected to confirm:
• Authenticity
• Precious metal content
• Weight and dimensions
• Condition
• Security features where applicable
Parcels received by post may be weighed prior to opening and are opened under video recording for security, verification and dispute prevention purposes.
Our determination of weight, purity, authenticity, and valuation using our equipment and professional judgement shall be final.
If items are suspected to be counterfeit, altered or misrepresented, no payment will be made and the items will be returned to the sender.

8.    Final Offer and Price Locking
Once inspection is complete, Semple&Co will provide a final purchase offer.
The final price is based on:
• Live precious metal market prices at the time of inspection
• Quantity and metal content
• Market liquidity and demand
• Condition where relevant
The price is locked only when the final offer is issued.
Final offers are typically valid for 24 hours unless otherwise stated.

9.    Acceptance of Final Offer
Customers may accept the final offer by confirming in writing, including by email.
Once accepted, the transaction becomes binding and cannot be cancelled without our agreement.

10.    Payment
Payment will normally be made by bank transfer to a UK bank account in the seller’s name.
Payments are usually made on the same working day or the next working day after acceptance.
We do not normally make cash payments.
If any overpayment is made in error, the customer agrees to promptly repay any excess amount upon request.

11.    Declining the Final Offer and Return of Items
If the final offer is declined, Semple&Co will arrange secure insured return delivery using Royal Mail Special Delivery or an equivalent tracked and insured service.
Return postage and any associated insurance costs will be payable by the customer. An invoice for these costs will be issued prior to dispatch. Items will normally be returned once payment for return postage has been received.
If return postage is not paid within 14 days of the invoice date, Semple&Co reserves the right to apply reasonable storage and administrative charges as outlined below.

12.    Storage and Administrative Charges
Where items remain in the possession of Semple&Co due to non-payment of return postage, failure to respond to communications, or delayed instructions from the customer, we may charge reasonable storage and administrative fees.
These fees are intended to cover secure storage, insurance, handling and administrative costs associated with safeguarding precious metals.

13.    Abandoned Property
If return postage remains unpaid or we are unable to contact the customer for a period of 90 days from the date of the final offer or last communication, the items may be treated as abandoned.
In such circumstances, Semple&Co reserves the right, where permitted by law, to dispose of or sell the items in order to recover storage, administrative and associated costs. Any remaining balance after reasonable costs may be returned to the customer where possible.
Semple&Co will make reasonable efforts to contact the customer using the contact details provided before taking any such action.

14.    Identity Verification and Anti-Money Laundering
Semple&Co may request identity verification before completing a purchase.
This may include:
• Photo identification
• Proof of address
• Additional checks where required
Failure to provide requested information may result in cancellation of the transaction.

15.    Ownership and Seller Warranties
By submitting items for sale, customers confirm and warrant that:
• They are the legal and beneficial owner of the items.
• The items are not stolen or subject to any third-party claims.
• They have full authority to sell the items.
• The items are as described and genuine to the best of their knowledge.
Semple&Co reserves the right to refuse transactions where ownership or authenticity is unclear.

16.    Fraud and Suspicious Activity
Semple&Co reserves the right to refuse or report suspicious transactions to relevant authorities in accordance with applicable laws.

17.    Market Risk and Price Volatility
Precious metal prices may fluctuate significantly between the time of estimate and inspection.
Customers accept that the final price may be higher or lower than any initial estimate.
Semple&Co is not responsible for market movements.

18.    Insurance and Risk While in Our Possession
While items are in our possession following confirmed delivery, we will take reasonable care and maintain appropriate insurance against loss or theft.
Our liability in respect of any loss shall be limited to any amount recovered from insurers.

19.    Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Subject to this, our total liability arising in connection with these terms shall not exceed the price paid or agreed for the items.
We shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses.

20.    Entire Agreement
These terms constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede any previous agreements or representations.

21.    Assignment
We may transfer or assign our rights and obligations under these terms. Customers may not assign their rights without our consent.

22.    Third Party Rights
No third party shall have any right to enforce these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

23.    Changes to This Policy
Semple&Co may update this policy at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website.

24.    Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
